Excellent at scraping algae off glass, rocks, and leaves, and it will not eat healthy plants. Needs hard enough water with a pH above 7 to keep its shell healthy, and may need algae wafers once algae runs low. Lays white eggs on hard surfaces that will not hatch in fresh water.
