Chloramine

A more stable chlorine-and-ammonia disinfectant used by many water utilities.

Unlike plain chlorine, chloramine does not evaporate by letting water sit, so it must be removed with a conditioner that also handles the ammonia it releases. Always check whether your utility uses chloramine.
