The Society member area

The member area is the private side of the Underground Aquarium Society. It's where you run the Breeder Award Program, review other members' entries, check the leaderboard and download certificates. Only members in good standing can open it.

Who can open the Society member area?

• Signed out: you're sent to Log in, then brought back.
• Signed in but not a member (or still applying): you're sent to the Society page.
• Member whose dues have lapsed, or approved but not yet paid: you're sent to the membership page to pay. Nothing in the member area opens until dues are paid.
• Member in good standing, lifetime member, honorary member or officer: you're in.

If the site can't read the roster, you'll see Couldn't load your membership ("Nothing about your membership has changed. Try again in a minute.") instead of being sent away.

How do I get to the member area?

Click The Society in the main menu, the site footer or your profile. Members in good standing always land on Overview. You can also bookmark /society/home.

What's in the member area menu?

On a computer, the menu is a rail on the left. On a phone, it's a row of buttons you swipe sideways. The links, in order:

• Overview
• Breeder Program
• Spawn Logs
• My Submissions
• Review Queue
• Leaderboard
• Certificates
• Raffle (marked Soon)
• Judge's Desk (only for Society judges)

On a computer, small counts appear next to My Submissions (your entries waiting on a decision), Review Queue (reviews assigned to you) and Judge's Desk (cases waiting for the judge). Above the menu, an identity plate shows your name, your title (once you've earned one) and your member number.

What's on the Overview page?

Overview is the member area's front page. It shows:

• Your member card (explained below).
• Four numbers: Points, Approved, Pending and Rank. Rank shows a dash until you have points.
• Progress to your next title, when there is one: a line like "[number] points to [next title]" with a progress bar.
• Three shortcuts: Start a Spawn Log ("Register a pair before they breed. That's how an entry begins."), Leaderboard (with the number of members in good standing) and Raffle · coming soon.
• Society trophies: your Society trophy cabinet. Trophies are checked and updated each time you open Overview.
• A link to See your full cabinet of site-wide trophies at Trophies.

What does my Society member card show?

Your member card appears on Overview and on the membership page. It shows:

• Underground Aquarium Society across the top and the Society seal.
• Your name as it appears on the roster.
• Your title, once your points reach the first rung of the Society's title ladder.
• Your member number, like UAS-0042. Numbers are permanent and never reissued.
• Member since and the year you joined.
• Your standing: Paid through plus a month and year, Lifetime member, or just Member.
• Lifetime and honorary members also get a Lifetime band along the bottom.

What's on the Breeder Program page?

Breeder Program explains the Breeder Award Program and is where you choose a species to breed. It covers the key rule ("Open your log before the spawn"), the five stages, your challenge code, how photos are checked, the difficulty classes, bonuses, and a searchable species list. Clicking a species opens a new spawn log for it. Full details are in Breeder Award Program.

What's on the Spawn Logs page?

Spawn Logs lists every spawn log you've opened, newest first. Each row shows the species, your challenge code, the date opened, how many of the 5 stages are done (for example 3/5), a status badge and a "first in society" tag if it earned the record. The Open a log button starts a new one. With no logs yet, you'll see "No logs yet" and a Pick a species button. See Spawn logs and submissions.

What's on the My Submissions page?

My Submissions lists your award entries with their program, date, points (for approved entries, shown like +15) and a status of Approved, In review or Rejected. The New entry button opens a new spawn log. With nothing there, you'll see "Nothing submitted yet" and a Pick a species button. The day-to-day progress of each spawn log (stages, reviews, appeals) is on Spawn Logs.

What's on the Review Queue page?

Review Queue shows entries assigned to you to review, at random. Each has seven days, and the row shows how many days are left or "due today." Below that, You've reviewed lists what you've already voted on. With nothing assigned, it says "Nothing waiting on you." How reviewing works is in Breeder Award Program.

What's on the Leaderboard, Certificates and Raffle pages?

• Leaderboard: every member with approved points, ranked. See The Society leaderboard.
• Certificates: download your Certificate of Membership and a breeder certificate for each species you've bred. See Society certificates.
• Raffle: a free members-only raffle that's still being built. It shows how many entries you've earned and how entries are earned: Approved submission (3 entries), Completed review (1 entry) and Membership renewal (5 entries, once per term). No tickets are ever sold. Draws haven't started yet, and entries you've earned carry over.

What is the Judge's Desk?

The Judge's Desk only appears for members appointed as Society judges. It lists escalations, appeals, high-value records and anything peer reviewers couldn't settle, plus a reviewer audit. Regular members don't see it, and opening its address sends you to Overview. See Spawn logs and submissions for how the judge fits in.

Can other people see my member area?

No. The member area is private to members. The leaderboard is visible to other members only. What the public can see is your profile's Society card (title, member number, BAP points, member since and breeder certificates) and any certificate record someone looks up at the Certificate Registry.

Common problems

I click The Society and land on the membership page. Your dues are unpaid or have lapsed. Pay from that page. See Society dues and renewal.

My member card shows "UAS-" with dashes instead of a number. Your member number hasn't been assigned yet. If it doesn't appear, email support@undergroundaquarium.com.

The menu counts don't show on my phone. The small counts next to menu items only show on larger screens. Open the page itself to see what's waiting.

I can't find the Judge's Desk. It's only shown to Society judges.

The Raffle says 0 entries. Entries currently come from approved submissions. Draws haven't started, and entries carry over.
