Tank votes, likes and comments

Shared tanks can be voted on, liked and commented on, so other keepers can tell you what they think. You need to be signed in to vote, like or comment.

How do I vote on a tank?

On a tank's page, next to the keeper's name, there are two buttons with the tank's score between them:

• Float up (the bubble): tap for a tank you like.
• Sink (the droplet): tap for a tank that shouldn't be there, such as spam or an empty test tank.

Tap the same button again to take your vote back, or tap the other one to switch (which moves the score by 2). Your vote shows in color: green for Float up, coral for Sink. The score is Float up votes minus Sink votes and can go below zero.

If you're signed out, tapping either button takes you to sign in, and your vote isn't saved until you tap it again.

What do tank votes do?

Votes from other members count toward the tank owner's bubble balance: Float up adds and Sink takes away. If a vote pushes the owner into a new bubble tier, they get a New tier notification and an email. The owner doesn't get a notification for each vote, and nobody can see who voted. See Bubbles.

What's the difference between votes and likes on a tank?

They're separate:

• Votes (Float up and Sink) live on the tank's own page and make up the tank's score.
• Likes (the heart) live on the tank's card in the Feed, where it appears as "shared a tank". Tap Like there, or tap the like count to see who liked it.

When someone likes your tank in the feed you get a like notification (you can turn these off under Feed likes in your notification settings). A like doesn't change the tank's score.

How do I comment on a tank's page?

1. Scroll to Comments at the bottom of the tank's page.
2. Type in Add a comment….
3. Tap Post comment. It shows "Posting…" while it sends.

Your comment appears at the end of the list with your name and the date. The heading shows the number of comments, for example Comments (3). With no comments you'll see "No comments yet, be the first to say something." If you're signed out you'll see "Sign in to join the conversation."

Comments are plain text; line breaks you type are kept.

Can I also comment on a tank in the feed?

Yes. When a tank shows in the feed as "shared a tank", tap Comment on its card to open feed comments, where you can reply to and like individual comments. See Posting to the feed.

Comments left on the tank's own page don't send the owner a notification, so if you're asking a question and want a quick answer, a direct message may reach them faster.

Who can delete a tank comment?

On a tank's page:

• You can delete your own comments.
• The tank's owner can delete any comment on their tank.

Tap the small trash icon (Delete comment) on the comment. It's removed right away without a confirmation step, so tap carefully. Comments can't be edited; delete and post again if you need to fix one.

In feed comments, the same rules apply, plus a confirmation "Delete this comment?".

How do I report a tank?

1. Scroll to the bottom of the tank's page.
2. Tap Report this tank (it isn't shown on your own tanks).
3. Optionally tell us what's wrong in Reason (optional)…. The form says "Tell us what's wrong (optional). We review every report."
4. Tap Submit report, or Cancel.

You'll see "Thanks, this tank has been reported for review." If it fails you'll see "Couldn't submit, please try again." Our team reviews every report. See Reporting content.

How do I report a bad comment on a tank?

Tank comments don't have their own report button. If it's your tank, delete it. Otherwise, you can report the whole tank and mention the comment in the reason, block the person from their profile, or email support@undergroundaquarium.com with a link to the tank.

Can I stop people commenting on my tank?

There's no setting to turn comments off. You can delete any comment on your tank, block people who bother you, or make the tank private (then nobody else can see it or comment). See Sharing your tank.

Common problems

My comment didn't post. You'll see "Couldn't post, please try again." Check your connection and tap Post comment again. The button stays greyed out while the box is empty.

My vote keeps resetting. The vote didn't save, usually because you were signed out or lost connection. Sign in and try again.

The owner never replied to my comment. Tank page comments don't notify the owner. Try sending them a message from their profile.

I deleted a comment by accident. Deleted comments can't be restored. Post it again.
