Account & safety
Your dashboard and settings
Your profile is your private home base. Only you see it. It holds your photo and details, shortcuts to everything that's yours, your certifications and your saved tanks. Your public page is separate; see Your public profile.
How do I get to my profile page?
Go to /profile while signed in. If you're signed out, you'll be asked to log in and then sent back there.
Messages, notifications, the feed and posting already live in the top bar (and the bottom bar on phones), so the profile page only holds things that are yours.
What's in the header card?
The top card shows:
- Your photo. Click it, or Add photo / Change, to upload a new one. The small trash icon removes it. See Editing your profile.
- Your display name and @username.
- Your email address. Only you can see this.
- Your location, if you set one.
- Your bubbles badge: your bubble count, tier name and level. See Bubbles.
- Edit profile: opens the edit form right inside the card.
- View public profile (just Public on phones): opens your /u/ page.
If you're a Society member, the card has a gold background to match your public profile.
What is the Society card?
Right under the header is a card with the Society seal.
- If you're a member, it says Society member area with your member number (like UAS-0042), your title, and "Spawn logs, breeder program, certificates". Click it to go to the member area.
- If you're not a member, it says Join the Underground Aquarium Society with "Judged breeder awards, signed certificates and Society trophies." Click it to learn more and apply.
See The Society overview and Society member area.
What shortcuts are on my profile?
Below the Society card are three groups of tiles.
Your stuff
- Public profile: your /u/ page (only shown once you have a username).
- My listings: your classified ads. See My listings.
- My shops: fish stores you manage. See Shop dashboard overview.
- My tanks: jumps down to Your tanks on this page.
- Trophies: your full trophy cabinet. See Trophies.
- Certificates: your Society certificates. Only shown to Society members. See Society certificates.
Tools
- Tank Builder. See Tank Builder.
- Water Check. See Water Check.
Settings
- Account & data: download your data, blocked accounts, privacy and terms, and deleting your account.
The Sign out button sits right under the tiles.
Where are my certifications?
The Certifications section on your profile lists every course certificate you've earned, each with its badge title, course name and "Earned" date. Click one to open the course.
If you haven't earned any, it says "You haven't earned any certifications yet." with a Browse courses → link. See Course certificates.
Where are my saved tanks?
The Your tanks section at the bottom lists every tank you've saved in the Tank Builder, newest first. Each tile shows a label:
- Posted: the tank is public and appears on your public profile's Tanks tab.
- Private: only you can see it.
Tanks without a photo show "Add a photo". If you have no tanks, it says "You haven't saved any tanks yet." with a Plan your first tank → link. See Saving and sharing tanks.
What is the account menu?
The pages under Account (like Account & data and Password) have a menu titled Your account: a sidebar on computers and a swipeable row of buttons on phones. It links to:
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Profile | Name, photo, tanks (/profile) |
| Account & data | Your copy, blocks, deletion (/account) |
| Password | Change how you sign in |
| Your listings | What you have for sale |
| Your shops | Shops you manage |
| Notifications | Everything you've been sent |
What's on the Account & data page?
Account & data shows "Signed in as" your email, then four sections:
- Download your data: the Download my data button saves a copy of your information as a file. See Privacy and your data.
- Blocked accounts: everyone you've blocked, with an Unblock button for each. If there's nobody, it says "You haven't blocked anyone." See Blocking people.
- Privacy & terms: buttons for the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Delete account: starts account deletion. See Deleting your account.
How do I change my password?
- Open Password from the account menu.
- Enter your New password and type it again in Confirm new password. It must be at least 8 characters.
- Click Update password.
When it's saved you're taken back to Your profile. Errors you might see: "Password must be at least 8 characters." or "Passwords do not match." If you signed up with Google you don't need a password. See Signing in and passwords.
Where do I control notifications and emails?
Notification switches are on the Notifications page, under Choose what you get notified about. You can also reach them from the gear icon in the bell menu. See Notifications and Emails we send.
How do I sign out?
Go to Your profile and click Sign out under the shortcut tiles. The button shows Signing out… and then you land on the home page, signed out.
Can other people see my profile page?
No. /profile is private to you, including your email address and your private tanks. What other people see is your public profile at /u/your-username. Click View public profile to check it.
Common problems
I'm sent to the login page when I open my profile. Your session has ended. Log in again and you'll be brought back.
There's no Public profile tile. It only shows once you have a username. If you signed up with Google and skipped choosing one, sign in with Google again to reach the Welcome page, or set one with Edit profile. See Choosing a username and welcome.
I don't see the Certificates tile. That tile is only for Society members. Course certificates are in the Certifications section on the same page.
My tanks say Private but I want them on my profile. Open the tank in the Tank Builder and share it publicly. See Saving and sharing tanks.
"Passwords do not match." The two password boxes must be identical. Retype both.
I can't find the account menu on my phone. On phones it's the row of buttons at the top of the Account pages. Swipe it sideways to see all six.
I want to change my email address. There's no self-serve setting for that. Email support@undergroundaquarium.com from your current address.
